“I want anybody to show me in your curriculum where you teach students how to turn a business out of innovations. When we teach students we teach them how to manage imports and how to export raw materials in Agric economics. Your loyalty should be to the bigger national plan. We throw away almost 70% of the value from agricultural produce, why should we when Makerere University is here.” The minister exclaimed while officiating at the Research & Innovations Week 2025, Makerere University.
Solar-Powered Surface water Pumps Manufacturing Launch
The Hon. Mister for STI officially launched local manufacturing of smart IoT-enabled solar-powered surface water pumps integrating both Swiss Technology from Ennos and Ugandan Technology from Innovex.
The pumps are inherently inclusive of a Paygo system as well as remote control and monitoring. This reduces the cost of acquisition and engenders access. They are thus prime for supporting water for production in the Parish Development Model.
